EXPERIENCE
June 2019- January 2020
Multimedia Journalist
WDBJ
With having so many interests in the media field (videography, editing, writing, reporting, photography) I decided to accept an offer at the top news station in Roanoke, Virginia. The position was unique, which was what drew me to it. While my official title was 'multimedia journalist,' I had multiple roles. I helped other reporters with their live shots, I responded to breaking news, and on the weekends I balanced editing the entire news shows while also turning my own stories. But Friday nights were my favorite. Friday Night Lights is big in Virginia, which allowed me to cover multiple high school football games and turn the 1-3 games I covered each night into a recap package touching on the key highlights of each game. It was a different energy than what I was used to in Philadelphia with the Eagles, but the adrenaline of shooting football for me was just the same. I even had the opportunity to cover NCAA Division I action by filming on the sideline of the football field at Liberty University and hanging out court-side shooting Hokies basketball at Virginia Tech.
July 2018- January 2019
Digital Video Assistant
Philadelphia Eagles
Prior to graduating from Widener University in May 2018, I was offered and accepted a seasonal position in the content department for the Philadelphia Eagles. After the team won the Super Bowl the season prior, I knew that the need for content would be at an all-time high for the defending champions. My day-to-day includes a little bit of everything, from producing the daily Eagles 360 show, filming player interviews, assisting with live production, getting b-roll shots of practice, and editing a variety of videos that are posted to social media, the mobile app, and PhiladelphiaEagles.com. I used my spare time to build my on-camera experience in the studio, receive feedback from the full-time staff, and work on video projects of my own to showcase my creativity.

June 2016-December 2016
Video Production Intern
Philadelphia Union
Reflecting on my first-ever internship, I could not have asked for a better experience. When most people hear the word 'intern' they assume you mainly shadowed and didn't have much responsibility. That wasn't the case here and I am so thankful for the opportunity. Working for a MLS team, I had the chance to edit feature videos that would be posted online, some even aired on television. I learned the basics of After Effects and Photoshop, creating motion headshots for the start of the match and updated stats and standings graphics to use during time outs in the game.

Growing up, I enjoyed telling stories, loved writing and always had a camera in my hand. I played numerous sports for as long as I can remember and always enjoyed the energy of the fans when I went to sporting events. I would call play-by-play with my uncle whenever we were watching or playing a game. As I concluded my high school years, I realized Communication Studies was the major that I was destined to pursue.
Once I was introduced to the broadcasting concentration, I dove right in, and my passion only grew stronger. One of my proudest moments in this industry was when a few of the videos that I edited, during my first internship with the Philadelphia Union, aired on a televised segment of the State of the Union. After completing this internship, I was nominated and selected as the recipient of IDEA's Inspire the Passion Award. This award allowed me to attend a five-day conference in Philadelphia in July 2017, networking with broadcast professionals from the MLB, NFL, MLS, NBA, NHL, and NCAA.

Once I began working for the Philadelphia Eagles, I had so much content at my fingertips, and instantly began cutting together hype videos in my free time. It's crazy to me that something I had never done before, quickly became my favorite thing to do. By week 1 of the regular season, I cut together my own version of Jason Kelce's Super Bowl speech and posted it to my personal Facebook page. In less than 24 hours, the video received just under 3,000 views and 70 shares. This moment is when I quickly realized how much I enjoy creating content to drive a fanbase.
I love to challenge myself to be as versatile as possible. This is why I am constantly editing different types of videos, and have picked up photography as a hobby. I'm always looking to grow my skillset in order to be a well rounded employee for the team(s) that I represent.
I have earned my leadership certificate, where I have developed my philosophy: Keep the camera rolling. The interpretation of my message is that mistakes happen, but it is important to learn from them quickly and move on.
